Initially, there were some murmurings as we ventured further from Alford but she rather sheepishly admitted that the quality was excellent which made my stay more enjoyable as well! “Lovely clean family room, all brand new furnishings so really comfortable. Quiet calm place to stay, self check in so barely see anyone but that’s just fine. Lovely view of sea from room and if not then only ten paces and at sea wall so you can hear it and feel near it. Not much going on in town but just very calm and quaint and authentic so not over touristy, which is perfect. Ideal base for exploring region.”

There were some annoying features though, such as: - the kicker board in the kitchen falls down whenever you open the dishwasher - the plates are too deep to fit in the dishwasher - the fridge door could do with being fitted on the other side - the house sleeps 6 but there is only settee space for 4 - the settee is……
